Yin-Strengthening Wheat Tea with Chinese Dates and Licorice root

 
 

A refreshing Yin-Tonic for Inner Balance - a classic TCM recipe “Gan Mai Da Yao Tang” recommended by Isabelle Grunert. Read more about the energetics of summer in her recent interview.

Ingredients:

  • 10 g licorice root

  • 30 g wheat kernels

  • 10 Chinese dates

  • 500 ml water

Instructions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a pot (preferably cast iron or enamel-coated).

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  3. Cover and let it simmer gently for 30 minutes.

  4. Strain the tea and drink it warm.

Serving Suggestion:

This tea can be enjoyed as a daily dose and can be reused up to three times.

Benefits: It is refreshing and cooling, nourishes Yin in the heart and kidneys, calms the mind, and harmonizes the center.
